DOK.fest goes Nantesbuch: INTO THE ICE

in cooperation with Stiftung Kunst und Natur – Nantesbuch

In the heart of the Bavarian foothills of the Alps, Gut Nantesbuch is surrounded by forests, meadows and moors. This is where the Art and Nature Foundation works on its extensive nature grounds: on approx. 320 ha, it develops and maintains the landscape with comprehensive measures in renaturation, landscape conservation, forest conversion and extensive agriculture and forestry. The "Langes Haus" serves as a central event venue and starting point for a diverse cultural and educational programme. Since summer 2022, we have been able to present documentary films here in an exceptional location.

Entry: 7pm, start: 7.30pm
Admission: 14,00 euros, reduced 10,00 euros (the choice between regular and reduced fee is at the discretion of the participants)

The film will be shown in its original version with German voice-over.

INTO THE ICE

Dänemark, Deutschland 2022 – Director: Lars Henrik Ostenfeld – Original language: Danish, English – Subtitles: German – Length: 86 min.

Despite many years of research, we still do not know exactly how fast the Greenland ice sheet is melting. This is the question director Lars Henrik Ostenfeld hopes to answer when he set outs on an expedition with three of the world’s leading glaciologists. The journey will take them 180 metres into one of the major “Moulin” holes in the ice sheet – further than any human has ever gone before. (Rise and Shine)
