Location: Kabul. Saba Sahar is a police officer, actor, director and producer all rolled into one. The central theme of her feature films is everyday violence against Afghan women. Her main characters, played by herself, are mostly female superheroes, who use martial arts techniques to free themselves from the clutches of their male opponents. With subtle intuition Sebastian Heidinger observes his protagonist at work, mostly under difficult circumstances. Sahar’s candidness allows the audience a natural insight into her life and communicates her enduring passion for her war-torn country. Underlined by entertaining film extracts from her work the film develops an unusual picture of a woman who is full of surprises.

Writer: Sebastian Heidinger. Sound: Michael Müller, Roy Tending, Sebastian Heidinger. Editing: Alexander Fuchs. Production: Boekamp & Kriegsheim GmbH. Producer: Nils Boekamp, Felix Kriegsheim. Co-Producers: in coproduction with: ZDF / Das Kleine Fernsehspiel. International Sales: Taskovski Films.
