SPEED - AUF DER SUCHE NACH DER VERLORENEN ZEIT
Germany 2012 – Director: Florian Opitz – Original language: English, German – Subtitles: None – Length: 97 min.
I have no time. We don’t need to listen particularly carefully to hear someone saying this within the hustle and bustle of our out-of-control information and achievement-orientated society. Florian Opitz does not settle for being one of a generation of adaptable, international media-based freelancers with impending burnout syndrome. He sets out on a search to find out where all the time has gone that we have actually managed to save painstakingly with the newest technologies and efficiency systems. Reflecting on modern Western culture and its associated economic structure, he visits those who have taken it upon themselves not to participate: family of mountain farmers, people in Bhutan and, actually, himself. A very enjoyable way of slowing down. Teresa Zeckau
