PUMPING ERCAN

Ten egg whites, two spoonfuls of protein powder and a handful of porridge oats cooked in a pan – a typical breakfast for the bodybuilding champion as he begins his comeback campaign after a long break. Turkish, Munich-based, Ercan, owns his own studio and alongside his competitive bodybuilding he also has a long-term ambition to become a “time millionaire.” The filmmakers have succeeded in establishing a very close relationship with their protagonist, portraying him as a master of his own destiny - all clichés aside. Even those who do not share in his aesthetic ideals of the body cannot fail to be on the edge of their seats to find out whether his hellish, agonizing starvation diet pays off in the end.
