On 3rd March 1976 in the Basque city of Vitoria, workers took to the streets to protest for better working conditions and higher wages. By the end of the night five people had been shot dead by the Spanish police, the youngest just 17 years old, and thousands more had been injured. The very same night acclaimed songwriter Lluís Llach, filled with rage wrote "Campanades a Morts", a song which became an anthem for the political struggles at the end of the Franco era in Spain.

Danés' film is, as the scriptwriters explain, "the story of a song, the portrait of the person who wrote it and the chronicle of the events that inspired it". Thirty years after the bloody events in Vitoria, through the politically engaged music of Llach and testimony from people involved on 3rd March 1976, this film offers a powerful reminder that we should never forget.

"A single song probably cannot define a musician such as Llach, so rich in registers, themes and resources, but 'Campanades a Morts', because of what it recounts, because of the rage with which it was written, because of its tragic content and because of its musical dimension, represents for us the highest degree of commitment from a musician who, throughout his career, has maintained an incorruptible personal coherence, an attitude of permanent revolt against the abuses of power." Scriptwriters Lluís Arcarazo and Lila Pla.
