Neil has terminal motor neurone disease and has only got one year left to say goodbye to his wife and his one-year-old son. He goes about this in a remarkably funny way and allows people to witness it through the camera and his blog.
Gradually all the muscles and nerves in his body lose their function. “You should just count how many times you have an itch each day – and then imagine that you are unable to scratch them.” Yet even with voice recognition software and breathing tubes in his nose he manages to make his wife laugh. At the same time Neil questions the meaning of his life up to now and asks what makes us human. This very personal story tells of the inevitable end that concerns us all. Maya Reichert
