Denok and Gareng were street kids when they met. They hoped to be able to start a new life together. But with every step forward misfortune follows. Like Sisyphus, the young family slaves away at their pig breeding but they get nowhere. They have problems with alcohol; a traffic accident leads to a stay in hospital and the school fees for their children are overdue. Money is and remains scarce and the constant stress has an impact on family unity. Nevertheless they succeed in maintaining their love for each other.
