“Get out of the house!” the demonstrators bellow through their megaphones. Their demands are directed at Karl D, a repeat sex offender. Since he moved in with his brother Helmut and his family the village has been in uproar. Karl is still considered to be dangerous and the neighbours are afraid. Helmut stands firmly behind his brother despite growing pressure from society and from the authorities. The stress is almost too much for him to take. Trapped within their own four walls the family is at breaking point. But things take a turn, preventing the situation from getting any worse._With a sensitive touch the film succeeds in getting close to the protagonists on either side of the dispute. Despite the obvious controversies, the film’s young directors have found a balance between tension and objective distance.
