Zeina Azouqah

Jordanian-born Berlin-based composer Zeina Azouqah started her path in music as a piano player in bands and theatres. Through her varied experiences, she developed an authentic style for intercultural music arrangements and composition. Her pieces have been performed by the Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg, the WDR Funkhausorchester and intercultural ensembles in Beirut, Cairo and Amman. After moving from Jordan to Germany in 2009, she studied Film and Animation in Nuremberg, eventually stepping into the film music world. "NICO" (2021), a film she scored with her colleague Doro Bohr was shortlisted for Germany's candidate for Best Int'l Feature for the OSCARS 2022.
