Lilian Sassanelli

Lilian Sassanelli was born in Hamburg in 1993 and grew up bilingual in Rome. She studied German literature and European ethnology at the Humboldt University in Berlin and directing at ZeLIG, School for Documentary Film in Bolzano. In August 2022 she completed her film studies with the documentary "Alone Together", which was awarded with the CARTE BLANCHE Young Talent Prize at the Duisburg Film Week 2022. While studying her first fictional short film "In the Bear" was nominated among the five best Italian short films (Nastri d'Argento and David di Donatello). In her films she frames feelings and atmospheres. Her stories are always based on personal experiences.
