Daniel Ebner

Daniel Ebner is a curator and cultural manager working at the intersection of film, audiences, and cultural policy. With over 20 years of experience, he focuses on film mediation in a broad sense—developing formats that make films accessible, contextualized, and engaging for diverse audiences. As co-founder and longtime director of VIENNA SHORTS, he shaped the festival into a key European platform, emphasizing audience development, participation, and fair cultural practices. His work spans film programming, exhibitions, and digital initiatives such as the streaming platform THIS IS SHORT. He also co-initiated advocacy networks and European collaborations, linking film culture, discourse, and public engagement.
