Managing Director (Zero One Filmproduktion Berlin)

 

Born 1961 in Hoya, Niedersachsen.

Studied Political Science in Hannover and Berlin.

During and after his studies, editor and reporter for several radio and television broadcasters in Germany, notably ORB and SFB, known today as RBB.

Since the mid-90's collaboration with Thomas Kufus and zero film Berlin. Development, script consultant and text writer for documentary films, documentary series and television reportage.

First-time director on the Living History series “Schwarzwaldhaus 1902” (4 x 45 Mins, ARD 2002). The series was awarded the Grimme Prize and was nominated for numerous German television prizes.

Concept for the cooking series “Die kulinarischen Abenteuer der Sarah Wiener“ (30 x 26  Mins and 20 x 43 Mins, ARTE 2007 to 2009) for the ARTE prime-time programme. Director of the first series, the rest as Producer.

2008 and 2009 development and creation of the documentary media project 

“24h Berlin – Ein Tag im Leben.” As creative director of the project responsible for the shooting and editing of the 24 hour programme. “24h Berlin“ was transmitted on 5th September 2009 by ARTE and RBB as well as many other European broadcasters and the internet platform www.theauteurs.com. The project was awarded the Bayrischer Filmpreis, the Robert-Geisendörfer-Preis and the Deutscher Fernsehpreis 2010.

2013 idea and concept of the fictional series „Zeit der Helden“ (SWR, ARTE 2013), awarded with the Deutscher Fernsehpreis and the Grimme Preis. 

2014 development, creation and creative director of the documentary media project „24h Jerusalem“ (BR, ARTE 2014), awarded with the Deutscher Fernsehspreis. 

2015 director of „Heimat gesucht“ (RBB)
