Rebecca Zehr

After her studies in cultural anthropology, Rebecca Zehr lived in Ecuador and Germany and worked at various international film festivals. Since 2016 she has been studying documentary film directing at the University of Television and Film Munich. Her short film EPITHESE was selected for the Next Generation Short Tiger program. DEAD SEA DYING, which she co-directed, premiered at Visions du Réel, where it won the Tenk Award and later received the German Film Critics Award. Her film A SOUND OF MY OWN was winner of the Golden Dove in the German Competition Long Documentary Film at DOK Leipzig 2021. In 2021, Rebecca Zehr was recipient of the Kirch Scholarship for Media Art. She is a teacher in the documentary film department at the HFF Munich.
