Violet Feng

Violet Du Feng is an Emmy®- and Peabody-winning documentary filmmaker, a 2025 Guggenheim Fellow, and a 2024 Chicken & Egg Awardee. She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s Journalism School. Her latest film, THE DATING GAME, premiered in the 2025 Sundance World Cinema Competition, won Best International Director at Doc Edge, and screened at over 40 festivals worldwide. Her previous film, HIDDEN LETTERS (2023) was Oscar®-shortlisted and nominated for both Peabody and Emmy Awards. It premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival, won 12 international awards, and aired in more than 15 countries. She also directed the PBS/CPB special HARBOR FROM THE HOLOCAUST, featuring Yo-Yo Ma.
