Laura Lybaschenko

Laura Lybaschenko is a Munich-based screenwriter, studying at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF) since 2020 after earning a Design degree. She has worked on five films and directed her debut documentary short Jetpack (2021). Her work explores autobiographical narratives, care work, and migration. In 2023, she was nominated for the CIVIS Media Prize. I See Them Bloom premiered at Palm Springs and was nominated for the German Short Film Award. Balkan Baby won Jury and Audience Awards at Interfilm Berlin, screened at Clermont-Ferrand, and is on ARTE. She studied under Omer Fast at HFBK Hamburg in 2025 and is currently developing her horror series Fame Fatale (Tellux Propeller Prize 2024) and writing her debut novel Sisterhood.
