Jonas Brander

Jonas Brander is an award-winning filmmaker whose work stands for socially relevant, poetic storytelling. His first feature-length documentary, Until the Sun Dies (Hasta que se Apague el Sol), has been screened at more than 25 international festivals and has won, among others, the Silver Biznaga for Best Director at the Málaga Film Festival, Best Documentary Camera at Achtung!Berlin and the Best Documentary Award at the International Film Festival Würzburg, Sole Luna Doc and Festival de Libertés. Brander is currently pursuing a master’s degree in documentary film directing at the Konrad Wolf Film University of Babelsberg and works on documentary projects in Latin America and Europe.
