Lisa Polster

Lisa Polster (b. 1996) works as a director and writer in Vienna and Berlin. She studied screenwriting and dramaturgy at the Konrad Wolf Film University in Babelsberg. During her studies, she wrote screenplays for short films that were screened at numerous international film festivals (including Clermont-Ferrand, the Max Ophüls Prize, and interfilm Berlin). Her feature-length documentary BÜRGLKOPF won the Grand Diagonale Prize for Best Documentary Film and the Diagonale Youth Jury Prize in 2025, as well as the Best Central and East European Documentary Film Award at the Ji.hlava IDFF. She is currently a participant in the Austrian Film Institute’s Talent LAB and a recipient of the Start Scholarship for Film Art from the Austrian Ministry of Arts and Culture (BMWKMS).
