Lutz Knappmann
Head of Editorial Innovation, Süddeutsche Zeitung Digitale Medien
Lutz Knappmann, born 1977, is Head of Editorial Innovation at Süddeutsche Zeitung Digitale Medien, based in Munich. In this role he helped setting up Süddeutsche Zeitungs first VR projects. Previously he was working as deputy editor-in-chief of SZ.de, the newspapers online-news-site. He ha s a diploma in Journalism, Politics and Economy from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, where he also attended the German School of Journalism (Deutsche Journalistenschule). After internships at a variety of publications, such as Der Spiegel, he started his career in the business-section of Munichs tabloid Abendzeitung. In 2004 he moved to Hamburg, to work as finance-correspondent for manager-magazin.de. Later he worked for Financial Times Deutschland – first as a Page-Editor, then as the Media Correspondent. Since 2011 he is part of Süddeutsche Zeitungs digital editorial team.
