The senseless rear of a senseless war. Great Russia in a tiny Chechnia.

Among all the military units in Chechnya there is a special one.

The whole unit is located in a train with an old steamer. Three wagons are used to wash laundry, the remaining two serve as a bathhouse for soldiers and officers.

Five platoons of warm and clean young soldiers submitted by their parents to rear commanders have lately found themselves in hell.

With their backsides covered with soup suds, the half naked newcomers are standing among a dozen of washing machines and dirty, lousy uniforms covered with blood.

There are angry unshaved men washing in the bathhouse. They wash themselves quickly with lots of swearing. Washing day in hell.

Having washed themselves, they leave the train wearing clean underwear and head to the destroyed city. Heading to the dank down.

The washing day is not only a reason to wash the body but to clean the soul. The ongoing speaking --a mix of oaths and pieties, swearing and Mother, home and military boasting rubbish, the truth and childish lies

A man comes clean to this world... and so he leaves. The dirt is left for those who are alive.
