The Ragged Ones is set in the Maluti Mountains of Lesotho - the Rooftop Kingdom of Africa. The Basotho are a herding people who despite Famine, Aids and Poverty continue to make a science out of their beliefs in witchcraft. The filmmakers visit the people of Ha Soai and are introduced to two traditional healers, Ntate Leu and Me Mofokeng. They talk about the plants they use for their medicine, their practice and the issue of AIDS, which they believe they can heal with their methods.
