TAGTRÄUME
Switzerland 2011 – Director: Aurora Vögeli, Anabel Castro – Original language: Portuguese – Subtitles: German – Length: 48 min.
“I wanted a job that offered freedom and this is it.” Maria is a prostitute. She comes from Brazil and now lives in Switzerland. In Zurich prostitution is legal. It’s all about the “quick money,” she says, and being able to live independently from it. Clara is also looking for freedom and she is also Brazilian. In order to fulfil her dream of studying in Switzerland she has left her children in Brazil. She wants to learn German so she can register at the university. But she needs money for that… In everyday scenes and very intimate interviews the film shows how close the two women get to their dream of freedom. And in the end we realise that the search for happiness is a never-ending journey. Katrin John
