The nuclear family - a father, a mother and a child - is not the only family unit in which children can become unhappy. What began in the middle of the seventies as a creative attempt to transcend the petit bourgeois family model through free love led to traumatic experiences, especially for the children of the commune members.
Paul-Julien Robert, a child of the commune led by Vienna actionist artist, Otto Mühl, sets off in this film in search of his biological father. For his mother and him it becomes a test of endurance for their relationship and an odyssey through the idealistic tribulations of the concept of free love. The film is a highly emotional piece, which teaches us how much even liberal ideas, if they are implemented in a totalitarian manner, can destroy a community. Daniel Sponsel
