MEIN WEG NACH OLYMPIA
Germany 2012 – Director: Niko von Glasow – Original language: English, German – Subtitles: None – Length: 85 min.
Niko von Glasow, Germany’s only short-armed film director discovers the world of competitive sport. Travelling around the world, the couch potato meets sportspeople training for the Paralympics in London in 2012. The film concentrates on the international personalities’ different characters and motivation for their sport. There is the introverted table tennis player from Norway; the self-confident American archer; the sensitive Boccia champion from Greece; the disciplined German swimmer and the inquisitive volleyball team from Rwanda. With MEIN WEG NACH OLYMPIA the director completes his trilogy on the lives and feelings of people with disability. Von Glasow remains both laid-back and precise, amusing and self-deprecating throughout. Maren Willkomm
