In 1954 The Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Heritage from Armed Conflicts was agreed by different European countries. The participating countries agreed to proctect and shelter records that are important for the overall cultural heritage.
"Measures for the protection of cultural heritage" is a documentary on the protection of culturally relevant authority records. Filmed on microfilms, the records are sealed in high-grade steel containers. These airtight containers are stored in a former iron mine in the Black Forest in the South of Germany. The latest scientific reports expect the microfilms to preserve information reliably for at least 500 years.
