When Lara Roxx went to L.A. in 2004 to earn money as a porn actress she was pressurised by the industry not to use condoms and became infected on set with HIV. The director, Mia Donovan, meets Lara for the first time in a psychiatric clinic in Montreal and follows her over the next five years. Her journey takes her to L.A. and Las Vegas, where Lara is confronted with her past.
Donovan has succeeded in creating a close and personal portrait of a young woman who struggles with drug addiction and her identity, while the porn industry continues to refuse responsibility and dismiss the use of condoms. Eva Weinmann
