HUDEKAMP - EIN HEIMATFILM

“Once you are in, it’s hard to get out.” This is the state of affairs in the high-rise estates of Hudekamp, a suburb of Lübeck. Arms dealing, drugs, prostitution – is how one of the housing owners sums up the environment. Here things come together that don’t belong together – or do they? The strangest couple must be Annemie and Basti, an elderly diabetic and a young alcoholic who take care of each other. Here “heimat” gains a new meaning. There are young people without prospects, the long-term unemployed and refugees. The mood alternates between hope and resignation. Meanwhile the caretaker sits in the control room watching things unfold on the CCTV screens. Anja Klauck
