Janusz, Dickerchen and Tomek have been working as sailors aboard the freighter Gaastdiep for six months. Between all the work that needs to be done there is hardly time for a private life. There is little space on the ship and few possibilities to leave it. When Dickerchens and Tomeks contracts run out, it means the end of a friendship. The Gaastdiep sets sail and who knows, if they will ever see each other?
Without speaking a word of Polish, the directors accompanied the sailors for three weeks. In "direct cinema" style, the film shows life on board of a freighter.
