The New York neo-burlesque scene knows no taboos. It radically pushes forward with this form of striptease, which originated in USA in 1930s and has since become celebrated worldwide. The word “burlesque” means “a joke” and the eight dancers in EXPOSED take it to the extreme. To Dirty Martiny, Mat Fraser, Bunny Love and the other performers from the Lower East Side it is more than just an amusing striptease. Overweight, disabled and transsexual dancers demonstrate evening after evening what physical liberty means. With them the body becomes a pleasurable utopia without constraints.
