A violent crime prompts a fascinating time travel from deep Africa to modern Israel.

The facts are simple: Amselo Tasma strangled his wife Abuna Vessa, a mother of five, to death. This film tries to reconstruct the events that lead to the conspiracy to kill.

We trace the lives of Ethiopian women, learning of their hopes, frustrations and daily struggles. Blood Engagement explores their fate in Israel: The total estrangement from the country they are living in; the clash with a society that is not sympathetic to their traditions, yet offers nothing as a substitute.
