A world in Super 8 that vanished in the eighties, defeated by multifunctional Camcorders. In pale colours, families at the supposed highlights of their life together: birthdays, Christmas, vacations ... there is always enough time for reminiscing, as the pictures roll by silently in barely noticeable slow motion. All recordings resemble each other to the smallest detail, except for the frame, the single swing of the camera - making it possible to paste together one great common story, the fictional story of a proto-family of the seventies and eighties; gathered together from all the little authentic memories of past family happiness. The Eighth World searches for a common consensus on family values, it searches for rituals - and is a farewell to the family format Super 8.
