DER KOMPLEX
Schweiz 2002 – Director: Fabienne Boesch – Original language: Schweizerdeutsch – Subtitles: deutsch – Length: 30 min.
A high rise complex in Switzerland. When the "Lochergut" was built in the sixties, it was considered the perfect example of modern residential construction. Max Frisch was one of the first prominent dwellers. Today a mix of old Swiss and people from about 25 different nations live in the building with its 21 floors.
The film goes on a house visit. The inhabitants talk about life in the "apartment building-machine" or "monkey-rock" as some call it. About the anonymity that is unavoidable when 800 people from different social classes live together in one house. How neighbours with too many children can get too close to one's own living room. About vandalism and the Swiss virtues. The nice way the living space extends onto the balcony.
