The golden age of the Balkan Hollywood._Only a few today remember what was once the largest film studio in Europe. A handful of former colleagues reminisce about the heyday of Yugoslavian films and Avala Studios. With the support of President Broz Tito it became a place of glitz and glamour visited by many world-famous stars, such as Sophia Loren, Alfred Hitchcock and Orson Wells. Today all that remains are dilapidated sets, abandoned lots and packed storerooms full of props that have lost their sparkle under a thick layer of dust. With archive material and old film extracts this documentary takes a fresh look at the socio-politically vibrant Balkan region from the perspective of film history.
