Sometimes getting a goat is as good as gold. When a Polish community was struggling to provide its citizens with the basic milk and cheese, they came up with an original twist to social welfare. Instead of money every person was presented with a goat.

Most of the recipients had lost their jobs to the post-soviet collapse of th e large agro-factories. This donation from the Bratislava University of Agriculture is meant to help people help themselves.

As often happens, the beginnings are difficult. Man and goat do not always get along. Not only are goats voracious creatures. They also happen to possess a certain bullheadish character. Slowly but surely, however, the relationship between the goats and their owners begin to blossom.

The film follows this unusual story, all the while offering an amusing view of Polish reality on the eve of its entry to the European Union.
