In the Czech village of Nosovice they say it was like a UFO had landed when a Korean car manufacturer built a factory on what was once a cabbage field. Vit Klusák not only tells the story of a huge rift in the village that ensues but also stages a playful debate about the place and its history. What happens when two cultures meet? The locals play along and drive things forward themselves. The factory becomes like a foreign body. A young man fights for his job. Death threats circulate, lawyers demonstrate and a strike threatens. Would a car scarecrow be enough to rid the village of its ghost?_The film is packed with humour but sometimes you don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
