We cordially invite you to the award ceremony of the main awards of the 37th DOK.fest München. In the presence of the award winners and representatives of the jury and award donors, we will officially award the VIKTOR Main Competition, VIKTOR DOK.deutsch, VIKTOR DOK.horizonte as well as the Documentary Film Award of the Goethe-Institut, the FFF Talent Award Documentary Film and the megaherz Student Award.

VIKTOR Main Competition

The main award of the festival honours outstanding films in the main competition The VIKTOR Main Competition is endowed with 10,000 euros. The award is donated by Bayerischer Rundfunk. Nominations are open to films that cover a broad spectrum of content and form and are distinguished by their high artistic quality.

VIKTOR DOK.deutsch

The DOK.deutsch competition presents films that deal with people and events in the German-speaking world. The VIKTOR DOK.deutsch is endowed with 5,000 euros.

VIKTOR DOK.horizonte

The films in the DOK.horizonte competition tell of countries in transition. They are nominated for the VIKTOR DOK.horizonte, endowed with 5,000 euros, donated by the Petra-Kelly-Stiftung.

Documentary Film Award of the Goethe-Institut

The documentary film award by the Goethe-Institut honours an outstanding German documentary film of the current year and is endowed with 2,000 euros. As part of a new festival network, the award will first be presented in May 2022 at DOK.fest München and then in the turn of the year at the DOK Leipzig festival, the Duisburger Filmwoche and the Kasseler Dokfest.

FFF Talent Award Documentary Film

The FFF Talent Award Documentary Film, donated by FilmFernsehFonds Bayern, honours local up-and-coming directors at DOK.fest München. The award is given across all sections and is endowed with 5,000 euros.

megaherz Student Award

The Student Award of DOK.fest München presents outstanding documentary films by students of German-speaking film schools. The films are nominated for the megaherz Student Award, worth 3,000 Euros.


Tickets for the nominated films of the competitions, DOK.deutschDOK.horizonte as well as the Documentary Film Award of the Goethe-Institut, the FFF Talent Award Documentary Film and the megaherz Student Award are now available in presale. The films can be seen from from 4 to 15 May 2022 at the Munich venues and online from 9 to 22 May. 2022
