The formal qualities of the films at the Panorama are as diverse as their themes. They epresent the diversity of documentary narratives, often celebrating their German – and international – premieres.
Rachel "Ruchie" Freier from Brooklyn is an Orthodox Jewish woman, mother of six children, lawyer and wildly determined to turn patriarchy in her community upside down: She founds the first volunteer women's rescue service for women. Director Paula Eiselt accompanies the courageous mission. She succeeds in gaining a multi-layered insight into the religious Jewish life of Brooklyn.
We present the German premiere of the film at DOK.fest München 2019.
