“The memoirs of a pimp and a convict” was how Spiegel described the infamous book “Der Minus-Mann” by Heinz Sobota in 1978. This film is a dialogue between a female interviewer and the beast. Talking, asking questions, walking together along the river, eating, drinking, sitting in the café – a sadist and oppressor of women with a doe-eyed interrogator. A striking film about our fascination with bad guys and the boundaries between manipulation and documentation. Nora Moschüring

Cajo (22) looks at himself. He recalls the time before his imprisonment – with a job, house and pregnant girlfriend - and speaks about himself: who am I? Who can I be? Who do I want to be? For Cajo the film becomes a mirror: a double-edged concern with reality and with his own identity. Cajo tries things on and takes them off again, looking quickly to see if they fit. Occasionally he might hit out and end up in prison again. “When you don’t know who you are then are you a nobody or are you anybody?” Nora Moschüring
