For teens: Documentary film workshops – storytelling with reality

For young people who want to make a documentary film

How do I find a good protagonist for the subject of my documentary film? What stylistic devices and editing techniques make the story exciting?

DOK.education offers workshops for interested non-professionals aged 12–26 who would like to make their own documentary film. No prior knowledge is required. The full-day workshops answer all questions relating to conducting interviews, camera technology, and storytelling.

The workshops are a complementary offering to our documentary film competition for young people, which is being held throughout Bavaria in cooperation with the BLLV e.V. and MLLV e.V. However, all workshops can also be attended independently of a submission. Here you can find the winning films from the documentary film competition for young people 2026.

Unfortunately, the workshops are offered only in German language. Please switch to the German webside for more information.
