Daniel Ebner is a curator and cultural manager working at the intersection of film, audiences, and cultural policy. With over 20 years of experience, he focuses on film mediation in a broad sense—developing formats that make films accessible, contextualized, and engaging for diverse audiences. As co-founder and longtime director of VIENNA SHORTS, he shaped the festival into a key European platform, emphasizing audience development, participation, and fair cultural practices. His work spans film programming, exhibitions, and digital initiatives such as the streaming platform THIS IS SHORT. He also co-initiated advocacy networks and European collaborations, linking film culture, discourse, and public engagement.

Lisa Haußmann is a film scholar and film educator who has been working for 15 years as a curator, speaker and writer for film festivals and various cultural and educational institutions in Germany and France. Since 2025, she is the Artistic Director of the French Film Festival Tübingen | Stuttgart. From 2014 to 2024, she directed the SchulKinoWochen Berlin. She speaks and writes about film, designs and moderates conferences and panels, develops and implements film education programs for children and young people, and provides professional development for teachers and students. Haußmann is a founding and board member of AG Filmvermittlung e.V.

With a background in media economics and specializing in the film festival sector, she is active in applied research, advising film festivals on their positioning, strategic development and cooperation with partners. In addition, she writes about current trends among film festivals in trade magazines.

Andrea Kuhn is a trained film scholar and has been the full-time director of the International Nuremberg Human Rights Film Festival since 2007. She headed the Erlangen Silent Film Music Days from 2001 to 2011. For several years she chaired the Human Rights Film Network, an association of over 50 film festivals worldwide focusing on human rights. Andrea Kuhn is a member of the European Film Academy and a member of the board of trustees of the medico international foundation.

Parand Laghai works in film literacy, as well as in curation and cultural management, and curates for festivals such as Berlinale Generation. She is the co-initiator and project lead of CineConnect. Her work focuses on restructuring processes that critically address discrimination and power dynamics. Strengthening communities is particularly important to her, which is why she co-founded jü_misch. She is also deeply engaged with current societal developments, which is why she is pursuing a career as an AI project manager.

Maya Reichert, a cultural mediator and filmmaker herself, has headed the year-round DOK.education program at Germany's largest documentary film festival DOK.fest Munich since 2013. She studied documentary film directing at the HFF Munich, where she worked at the chair of Prof. Doris Dörrie until. She holds teaching positions at universities, film initiatives and educational institutes for teachers. She is an active member of the "Round Table Film and School" of the Institute for School Quality and Educational Research, which works to strengthen media literacy, film analysis and film practice in schools. Since 2015, she has been a member of the Doukmentarfilm funding panel at the Federal Office of Culture and Media.

Gudrun Sommer studied philosophy and film and television studies in Graz and Bochum. In 2002 she founded doxs! and the doku.klasse, a few years later the association "Freund*innen der Realität e.V." and the regional festival DOXS RUHR, which she has directed since its foundation. Before that she worked as co-director for the documentary festival Duisburger Filmwoche, was curator at the Diagonale, the steirischer herbst, the Golden Sparrow children's media festival and the IFFF Dortmund/Köln. Gudrun Sommer is a lecturer at the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Bochum and volunteers with the Cultural Council of North Rhine-Westphalia and the European Children’s Film Association (ECFA). As a certified ‘Green Consultant Film & TV’, she supports sustainable and collaborative cultural work through her agency, fair enough.

Patrik Thomas (*1986) is a filmmaker, media artist, and educator based in Munich. He is the founder and artistic director of Ciné Vélo Cité, a mobile bicycle cinema and film laboratory, which became an official open-air venue of Dok.Fest Munich in 2025. The project collaborates with Münchner Kammerspiele, the Goethe-Institut, Sammlung Brandhorst, and the University of Applied Sciences Munich, where Thomas holds a lectureship in film and public space. His feature documentary BOALÂNDIA premiered at the International Film Festival São Paulo in 2024. His short film TAIWASTE received the FFF Award at the Kurzfilmwoche Regensburg. He is currently developing his second feature film, ANGRA.
