Dokumentarfilme leben von den Menschen, die vor der Kamera stehen. Aber wer steht da eigentlich? Sind es Mitwirkende oder Partner*innen? Oder doch eher Figuren die erst im Schnittprozess geformt werden? Wie gehen wir mit ihnen um? Die Veranstaltung der AG DOK gewährt einen vielschichtigen Einblick in die verschiedenen Aspekte dieser Beziehungsarbeit.

Chiara Sambuchi
Regisseurin, Autorin (Docdays GmbH)

Chiara Sambuchi, born in Pesaro, Italy, studied Philosophy and classical guitar and worked as a producer for RAI’s Berlin office. She went on to direct documentaries and reportages for European broadcasters such as ARD, ARTE, ZDF, YLE and RAI. Her feature length documentary films “Wrong planet”, “Good morning Africa!” and “City of women, today” screened at film festivals. "Lost children. Thirty thousand minors missing" has been nominated for the Prix Europa 2017 and received a honorable mention at the Prix Media of the French "Enfance Majuscule". Her film "THE DEAL" premiered in at CPH:DOX in 2022, her new feature lenght documentary film "THe Srebrenica tape" has its German premiere at Dokfest Munich.

Andreas Schroth
(MEDEA FILM FACTORY GmbH)

Andreas Schroth, member of the board of AG DOK. Born in Munich in 1970, studied political science in Berlin. He has been working as a producer and production manager for over 20 years, mainly in the documentary field, and has been a member of AG DOK for just as long. During this time, he has produced numerous documentaries, series and feature-length documentaries for national and international public television.

Valentin Thurn
Inhaber (ThurnFilm GmbH)

Valentin Thurn is a director of documentaries for TV and cinema. His documentary “Taste the Waste” won 20 international awards such as the German Environmental Media Award and the Eating City Special Award. It was a box office hit in Germany with more than 130.000 spectators. The sequel “Food Savers” won among others the Econsense Journalist Award. His recent film “10 Billion – What’s on your plate?” won the German Nature Film Award and many others and was declared the most successful German cinema documentary in 2015. In the last 20 years Valentin Thurn realized more than 40 documentaries, among them “I Am Al Qaeda” that has been nominated for the German TV Award in 2006.
