JULIE WILL MEHR

Schweiz 2013 – Director: Susanne Regina Meures – Original language: German – Subtitles: English – Length: 13 min.

“For my career I go to ballet, jazz dance and martial arts. I also play the piano and do solo singing and I go to a Russian school so I can speak French, Russian, German, Swiss-German and a little bit of English and… I think that’s all.” 8-year-old Julie dreams of becoming an actor and a singer. She works hard to achieve this. The film follows her day-to-day life and, if nothing else, raises the question of whose dreams are being pursued here – Julie’s or those of her overambitious parents. Nora Moschüring

LE DIMANCHE EN FAMILLE

Schweiz 2013 – Director: Annie Gisler – Original language: French – Subtitles: German – Length: 25 min.

“Sunday lunch in our family is sacred. Papa serves a princely feast and we sit for hours at the dining table. My brother – in contradiction to our rather middle-class upbringing – eats food that he finds at night in supermarket containers. To my grandma, throwing away food is unthinkable, even when it concerns just a dried up piece of bread. Eating is emotional for me. In short, I mistake my heart for my stomach.” Nora Moschüring

English/Original Title: Sunday with the family. German title: Der Familiensonntag. Writer: Annie Gisler. Camera: Géraldine Zosso. Sound: Maurizius Staerkle-Drux, Daniel Jeseneg. Editing: Valérie Anex, Annie Gisler. Music: Thierry Epiney. Production: Züricher Hochschule der Künste. Producer: Filippo Bonacci.

BUNGA BUNGA

Schweiz 2012 – Director: Maurizius Staerkle-Drux – Original language: German, Swiss German – Subtitles: German – Length: 42 min.

An actor (David Kai-Benjamin Berger) is looking for a job after his graduation. These are hard times for him. He constantly has to prove himself. Every passer-by means a confrontation with his acting. Every advertising poster invites him to interact with it and everywhere is somewhere to dance. Everything becomes blurred. What is acting and what is reality? What is authentic and what is staged? Nora Moschüring
