Ideas pitch for the future of documentary film

No more moaning about precarious conditions? You'd rather take action than sit out the digital change? Your head is full of innovative ideas about the future of documentary film?

Then we are your platform!

The medium film is in a phase of upheaval and must face the coming challenges in order to actively shape the digital future. This applies to all areas of filmmaking, from script development, financing and production to distribution.

With the new Pitch Slam format DIGITISATION ALL OVER? DER DOCUMENTARY SLAM, the DOK.fest Munich 2019 sets the stage for the best ideas for digitisation in the documentary film industry.

We are looking for concepts, impulses, practical reports and experiments that want to make creative and courageous use of the potential of digitisation. We don't care whether you're already earning money with your initiative or still trying it out.

DIGITISATION ALL OVER? DER DOCUMENTARY SLAM will take place on 9 May 2019 at the HFF Munich as part of the, the industry platform of the DOK.fest Munich. The participants will each have 10 minutes to present their ideas. Afterwards there will be an opportunity for questions from the moderator and the audience.

We offer festival accreditation including access to the full programme of DOK.fest München and Perspectives. DOK.fest München will also cover travel and accomodation costs for selected projects.

Send us a concept paper with the following content by 1 April 2019:

Situation analysis: What problem does your project focus on? Where do you see the core of the problem and why do you think it exists? What solutions already exist? Where are their weak points? (approx. 3,000 characters incl. spaces)

Concrete objective: What do you want to achieve and why is your idea different and better than the others (1 to 3 sentences)?

Description of the project idea and the (communication) measures:
How do you proceed? Which target group is your project aimed at? How do you want to reach them? (approx. 4,000 characters incl. spaces)
