Call for entries: Pitch Award sponsored by Haus des Dokumentarfilms 2020
Submit now until 1st March 2020!
The pitch competition offers students from our partner universities the opportunity to further develop their current projects in exchange with editors, producers and distributors as part of the DOK.forum marketplace and to win new financing partners. The Pitch Award for the best student pitch concept is donated by the Haus des Dokumentarfilms Stuttgart and is endowed with 2,500 euros in project funding.
Submission and regulations
The submitted projects should be based on films with a running time of at least 52 minutes and are currently in the pre-production stage (book stage).
The concept (PDF, max. 2,000 characters) should include the following content:
- Financing plan
- A brief curriculum vitae in tabular form
- A teaser/trailer (max. 5 minutes, only as online link, not mandatory)
The award for young talent is linked to the production contract of the film project. The payment of the prize money is made after presentation of the production contract to the prize donor Haus des Dokumentarfilms Stuttgart.
The deadline for submissions is 1st March 2020.
An independent selection committee of the DOK.forum selects a total of 9 participants. At a closed event at the beginning of May 2020 at the Munich University of Television and Film, the participants will present their projects to three to four jurors each in three rounds, individually and without technical aids. The jurors are high-ranking decision-makers from public broadcasters and the documentary film industry. This will be followed by Q&A and feedback. Each project is presented at a total of three tables. The most convincing project pitch will receive 2,500 euros in project funding.
