Duisburg-Rheinhausen is a symbol for traditional industry. In the late 80's, the greatest battle for labour in the history of the German republic took place here. This battle was lost und the steel-plant was shut down in 1993.
Today one of the largest centres for logistics in Europe is being built here. A new symbol is being constructed, this time for the departure into the post-industrial future. This documentary, made up of five chapters pursues the question what consequences these changes have for the "places of work" and for the whole job world. At the same time, the film is an essay on home and the loss of identity.
