Italien in den 1960er und 70er Jahren. Anita, Teresa, Valentina. Drei Frauen, die ein gemeinsames Anliegen haben: Schluss mit autoritären Vätern, überheblichen Brüdern und Machos im Bett! Fügsame Tochter, perfekte Ehefrau, aufopfernde Mutter? Nicht mit ihnen! Gleichberechtigung in der Familie, bei der Ausbildung und im Beruf, finanzielle Unabhängigkeit, sexuelle Befreiung, das Recht auf Verhütung und Abtreibung - das waren die elektrisierenden Schlagworte der neuen Zeit! Tagebucheinträge der drei Protagonistinnen und überraschendes, selten gesehenes Archivmaterial aus zwanzig Jahren Frauenbewegung ergeben die bunte Collage eines sozialen Wandels, der im katholisch-konservativen Italien besonders hart erkämpft wurde.

"To bring to life the events described in the three women's diaries, I use archival material, including photos, family film footage, romantic photo novels, TV reports and debates, independent and experimental films, private and militant film footage, advertising, music and animation, both from the period and made especially for the film.
