Your Film, Our Rules

The deadline for the receipt of entry forms and films has passed on 08th January 2010. Please do not send us any more films.

The 25th DOK.fest Munich will accept submissions of creative documentaries over 52-minute length. The date of completion must be after 1st January 2009.

Deadline for entry is Friday, 8th January 2010 (according to the date of the post mark). All submitted films must not have been broadcast on ARD, ZDF and BR or publicly screened in the region of Munich prior to presentation at the festival.

If your submitted film is not in English, French, German or Spanish in the original version, it will need English or German subtitles. We will be happy to view your submitted film. Due to the high volume of submitted projects we feel compelled to levy a film submission fee. The fee is EUR 35.00 (US-Dollar 50.00) per submitted project. The submission fee is waived for developing and emerging nations. You will find more detailed information in our online entry form.

Please fill in the online entry form that you will find at the bottom of this page.

Please send us by post the following material:

  • a technically flawless and clearly labeled DVD
  • a printed synopsis
  • a printed director's bio/filmography
  • if possible printed advertising material

Submissions that do not fulfil the criteria mentioned above or that are incomplete will not be considered. Upon reception of your DVD and the submission fee, you will receive confirmation of your registration via email to the email address you provided in your online entry form. At this stage, please do not send us any digital photos, a trailer or dialoglists. We will only request these if your film is selected.

If you are submitting a film at DOK.FEST for the first time, you need to register once. Once registered you can use your personal login at any time to submit a new film.

Now please fill in the Online Entry Form.

We ask for your understanding that we are unable to return any DVDs or printed material.
