The 27th DOK.fest Munich will accept submissions of creative documentaries over 52-minutes in length. The date of completion must be after 1^st January 2011. Deadline for entry is Friday, 15th December 2011 (according to the date of the post mark). All submitted films must not have been broadcast on ARD, ZDF and BR or publicly screened in the region of Munich prior to presentation at the festival. Films that are openly accessible on internet platforms are also excluded from the festival.

For our section DOK.education, we are searching for short documentaries (max. 30 min.) which aim at children and the youth. Ideally, the film should have german subtitles, otherwise please enclose a dialoguelist in german language. Deadline for DOK.education: November, 15th 2011

We will be happy to view your submitted film. Due to the high volume of submitted projects we feel compelled to levy a film submission fee (submissions for DOK.educations are exempt from the fee). The fee is EUR 35.00 (US-Dollar 50.00) per submitted project. The submission fee is waived for productions from developing and emerging nations. You will find more detailed information in our online entry form. If your submitted film is not in English, French, German or Spanish, it will need English or German subtitles.

Please send us by post the following material:

• a printed proof of payment, unless the submission fee has been waived (submissions for DOK.educations are exempt from the fee)
• a technically flawless and clearly labeled DVD (no paper labels; please print or write title directly on the DVD)
• a printed synopsis
• a printed director's bio/filmography
• if possible printed advertising material

Submissions that do not fulfil the criteria mentioned above or that are incomplete will not be considered. Upon reception of your DVD and the submission fee, you will receive confirmation of your registration via email to the email address you provided in your online entry form. At this stage, please do not send us any digital photos, a trailer or any dialogue lists. We will only request these if your film is selected. We ask for your understanding that we are unable to return any DVDs or printed material.

If you are submitting a film to DOK.fest for the first time, you will need to register. Once registered you can use your personal login at any time to submit a new film.
